TASK
In 2016, banking environment in Türkiye have had a new deal called as “digitalization”. Mostly all the banks had the same features and mobile applications but Yapı Kredi needed to beat its competitors in the eye of the consumer with one of its most important barnd values: innovation.
SOLUTION
We should position Yap Kredi as a brand superior to all technologies and intellegences. For example...Artificial intelligence. The unique one – yet not the smartest.
We’ve imagned a humanoid robot fled silicon Valley before its loading of intelligence have not been completed successfully and named as “Gary”(resonates like the Word “dumb” in Turkish slang).
This humanoid robot is capable of flying, opening his chest and keep some gadgets inside of it and has a clean cut design (we focused on medium shots on commercials) and details on it.
After 5 months of sketching and discussions between us and the tirth party 3D artists, we’ve finally actualized our friendly and dumb anti-hero.
The main charactere was Murat who uses Yapı Kredi technologies, in contrast Gary envies him. We’ve buit the whole campaign on this conflict by using motion capture technology fort the first time in Türkiye with the most famous actor/comedian who is famous for humorous body language and gestures.
GARY
GARY is an Half-Intelligent humanoid robot. He escapes the Silicon Valley before his intellence load gets completed and finds himself in Turkey at Metin’s house. He is a very good hearted but not very intelligent robot. The name Gary sounds very American but it also means Stupid in Turkish. İn the seris Gary Always acts very Turkish with his gestures, mimics and jokes. he tries his best to make Metin happy with its high technology but unfortunately he loses each time over Yapi Kredi’s Dijital Technologies. METIN: Metin is a normal man using Yapi Kredi banking technologies in daily life. His life changes completely with Gary landing in his backyard.
